The car we present is of French origin. Delivered new to Thepenier on 25/03/1971 to Maitre Georges BLACHE, auctioneer in the Paris region. It has known only 2 other owners until today, including Christian Louveau, son of the famous driver Henri Louveau (2nd in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1949).
Still equipped with its original engine, it only displays 49,823 km. The history is clear, the car is present in the Thepenier register, its chassis number is AM115/ 49 * 2082 *.
In 2021, this example received the “Maserati Classiche” manufacturer’s certificate in its current configuration. It is therefore matching numbers, original paint colors and interior (Celesto Chiaro / Black) and factory details. This example comes with extensive documentation and fascinating correspondence provided by the factory.
Regarding the 5000 SS version, the car is equipped with the ZF 5-speed gearbox. This version receives power steering and air conditioning as standard. The last owner undertook major renovations. Everything that needed to be redone or replaced has been done (with original Maserati supplies when possible). This includes in particular (restored) seats, a radiator repair and a complete carburation.
All the invoices of the various works are available and collected in an important file more than complete. This also contains period documentation from spare parts catalogs and manuals.
There was a recent mechanical restoration (2018-2019) and a painting in 2019 (which therefore respects the original color). The car is in very good overall condition.

The car is sold with its period tool kit and its original Campagnolo rims (fitted with new tyres).

Sold June 2007. Was in Sweden 2004 to 2007.
The car presented here was delivered new in France in this ” Rosso Rubino ” colour with beige leather interior. It benefitted from a major restoration at the end of the 1990s. In 2007 this Ghibli, presented with the best engine size, was sold at a Poulain-Le Fur auction at the Palais des Congrès. The cost of the restoration was indicated as being over €45 000. The current owner acquired the car from the Carrosserie Lecoq, with permission from the owner at that time, who had sent the car for a new exhaust and a Becker radio to be fitted. The same establishment has carried out a service on the car more recently, in which all the filters and seals were changed, the radiator repaired and the water pump changed (invoice of €5700). The interior of this Ghibli is splendid, with carpets and leather upholstery in immaculate condition. This is a wonderful, well-balanced car for the road. The paintwork is excellent. Enthusiasts will note that it is the same colour as the Ghibli in the film ” La Piscine ” starring Alain Delon, Romy Schneider and Maurice Ronet, which is one of the reasons that the current owner bought it!

Was sold new to Edmond de Cazelet, a banker from Monaco but resident in Southern France.
Chassis no. 2110 was built in February 1971 and delivered at the end of the month to Thepenier, the well-known marque distributor in Saint-Cloud, in western Paris. Finished in black paint over Cinghiale leather, the Ghibli was ordered for Edouard de Cazalet, a banker who eventually relocated to Washington, DC, when he began working for the World Bank. He also owned a 300S at that time which he had road registered for public roads. Ghibli #2110 was a special order from the factory in Black with Pigskin interior including headliner. In place of the cushions behind the front seats it has a tall storage bin.
The Maserati was then sold in the 1980s to Richard Grinstead of Wylie, South Carolina, and he gradually performed a complete restoration that refreshed the car both mechanically and cosmetically. After passing in 1995 to Richard Pew of Arlington, Virginia, the Ghibli was sold in 2006 to the esteemed collector Joe Corbaccio of Hershey, Pennsylvania, before being shipped to the UK, where it resides today.
Currently displaying 63,656 kilometres, this Maserati retains the original V-8 engine and colour scheme, and it would make a fabulous addition to any assemblage of European GT models, sure to stoke the passions of marque enthusiasts worldwide.

Documentation shows that this car, chassis 2152, was built on April 24, 1971. The first owner is not recorded, but ultimately, the car was sent to the U.S. to be delivered to its first owner in the state of Florida. This 4.9 SS Ghibli was originally painted with the exterior colour Celeste Chiaro (Light blue) over a white leather interior.
Inside of this Ghibli, remarkable visibility, fantastic seating position, and an easy entry allow for extreme driver’s comfort, along with the amenities of an adjustable steering wheel, adjustable seats, air conditioning, and electric windows. Mechanically, the car features independent front suspension, coil springs, double wishbone suspension, an anti-roll bar, rigid axle with radius arms, and 4-wheel hydraulic disk brakes.
Presented today in restored condition, this Ghibli wears a beautiful red exterior over beige leather interior. It’s unclear when this Ghibli was restored, but its handsome condition shows that the car has been well cared for since. More recently in 2017, the car was given a mechanical overhaul as outlined in invoices. Repairs included replacing the front control arms and ancillary suspension components, a fuel system cleaning which involved replacing the fuel lines, fuel pump, and a carburetor rebuild, new calipers and a brake system flush, and finally, an engine tuning. Although the Ghibli is propelled by a period correct 4.9 type engine just four digits off the original unit, it is not the original one to the car. Sold Amelia Island 2013. Video of the car.
