This Ghibli was completely restored by marque specialist Martin Logé, in 2006. It is matching number, it has been awarded at several concours in the recent years including, Best in Class and Best of Marque at Concorso Italiano.
Constructed in January 1970, AM115/1476 was dispatched to Canada and delivered by air to Citroen Canada Ltd. of Montreal, where it was reportedly delivered to a Citroen executive. Sometime later, the Ghibli joined a private collection and remained in British Columbia for approximately 25 years.
In 2005, Maserati specialist Martin Logé of Santa Barbara, California purchased the Ghibli and performed a complete restoration with the aim of creating a concours-quality show car. Mr. Logé completed the extensive process in 2006 and the Ghibli made its post-restoration debut at Concorso Italiano, where it earned Best in Class (Early V-8), Best of Marque, and Best Representation of a Giugiaro Design.
In recognition of this impressive performance, the official Maserati Club International publication published a photograph of noted classic car personality Keith Martin presenting this prize-winning Ghibli with its Best of Marque award.
In early 2011, Maserati Classiche and the department Manager Fabio Collina prepared a dossier of factory documentation that included copies of the original Certificate of Origin, factory test data, build card, end of line data sheet, and delivery records. In addition to these important records, this Maserati includes a tool roll, jack, owner’s manual, original sales brochure, restoration photographs, and several magazine articles.

This motorcar was ordered new by Rolma Automobili of Via Fontana, Milano in October of 1969 in Beige (106. Y. 56) with Senape (PAC 1775) leather, a becker radio and power steering. Once dispatched from the factory on the 19th of January 1970 to Rolma, she was sold to her first owner Dr Enrico Amelotti from Pavia, Italy. Now registered PV 221425, she received a service by the factory at 10,650 km.
By 1984, the motorcar had been imported to Pennsylvania in the United States and registered to Samuel D Burgio; then remaining in his ownership until 2012. Now sold by the Beverly Hills Car Club, she found a new home in London, United Kingdom with her current custodian.
Embarking on a no expense spared restoration at the end of 2014 that came to fruition in 2017, by the world-renowned McGrath Maserati; with invoices on file exceeding £120,000 from McGrath alone. This motorcar comes with her Maserati Classiche file, build sheets and is ready to be enjoyed with little miles completed since her complete rebuild.

After a long ,arduous restoration, AM/115 1520 is finally done. It was a debut car at the 2021 Amelia Concourse last weekend. She came off the restorers truck on Saturday and placed on the lawn 2 hours later! A beautiful weekend with great cars and great people! We were fortunate enough to win an Amelia Award for the Sports GT cars class . Never thought that day would come !

This lovely Maserati Ghibli 4.7-Liter Coupe stands out as a nicely presented and desirably equipped example. Completed at Maserati’s Modena workshops in last few months of 1970, this late-production Ghibli, chassis no. AM115.1554, was built as a left-hand drive Coupe, fitted with the desirable ZF 5-speed manual gearbox, and destined for the North American market.

The earliest history of this example is now recorded, but it is understood to have been delivered with factory air conditioning and in the color scheme it wears today of claret red over black leather. By 1992, the Ghibli had made its way to the Netherlands, where it would reside for the next 16 years. In 1998, the car was reported to have been restored and mechanically rebuilt, although records of work completed do not accompany the car. The mileage when the car was sold—which has not appreciably changed in the ensuing decade and a half—was reported to be original at just under 38,000 miles. Given its lack of use since acquisition by the present owner in 2008, it is recommended that mechanical recommissioning is undertaken prior to barnstorming.

Very beautiful Maserati Ghibli 4.7 coupé. Delivered new in West Nyack, USA in 1970 and comes from fourth owner. Sold to California in 1978 and spent the rest of her life over there. Thanks to the very dry climate it has always been in a perfect and rust free condition. Around 2010 it was sold to Europe. This is a ‘later’ type and it is equipped with airco, beautiful original Borrani wire wheels and power steering. Recently very professionally restored and overhauled into perfection. This was a bare metal, full nut and bolt restoration of a very high quality. Of course is this process documented very well with an extensive photo report. Technically in a perfect working and driving condition thanks to the very professional overhaul. The body is in an unbelievable good condition, as new and has perfect panel fittings. All the chrome is like new just as the paintwork. The undercarriage is rock solid, free of rust and like new. Performed in the original colour ‘Oro Longchamps’ in combination with a beautiful beige leather interior. Very tasteful combination. Top example in a top restored condition.

1970 Maserati Ghibli s/n 115*1564, was sold new in Dec., 1970, in Silver (106-E-1) with Blue Connolly leather (pac 1545) to Wes Farrell, who was married to Tina Sinatra, Frank’s daughter, and registered to his company, Coral Rock Productions. Wes Farrell was a very successful 1960’s and 1970’s songwriter and producer who wrote or co-wrote close to 500 songs and contributed to 300m in record sales. In March, 1972 Maserati Ghibli s/n 1564 was sold to Frank Sinatra, who needs no introduction. We have copies of the registration in Frank Sinatra’s name on file, correspondence from Nancy Sinatra confirming her father’s ownership and the Maserati data build sheet on file. 1970 Maserati Ghibli s/n 1564 was later sold to George Hamilton, another American actor and later still Maserati Ghibli s/n 1564 was sold to to Dave Thomas, the founder and owner of the Wendy’s restaurant chain. In 2000 Maserati Ghibli s/n 1564 was sold to the current long-term owner and has been well kept and maintained in his twenty years of ownership. Today Maserati Ghibli Coupe s/n 115*1564 is still registered on Frank Sinatra’s license plate FAS-IV for his name “Frank Albert Sinatra” and has extremely low miles with only 21, 699 original miles on the odometer. We have extensive service and maintenance records on file, call or e-mail us for copies.

At some point in the 1990s Maserati Ghibli Coupe s/n 115*1564 was repainted as the paint is much too nice to be original, and the complete interior was very nicely redone in soft and supple black leather. It is believed that the discrete red and orange pin striping on the car is from Wendy’s orange and red logo colours of the time (1970’s and 1980’s), which might explain the somewhat unusual choice of pin stripe colours for a silver car. The paint is in amazingly good condition except for the usual very minor stress cracks where the rear glass meets the roof line. The body is very straight with excellent panel fit and the doors close like Italy’s answer to a Swiss vault. The hood, the front bumpers and lights, the rear deck and rear lid all fit as new and all glass and chrome are in excellent condition. The frame, the floor pan and all lower panels are rust, dent and damage free, although there is slight damage to the right front lower rocker panel. The black leather interior, dash, console and black carpets have an excellent patina with only minor surface wear and compression on the driver’s seat due to use. The seat bolsters remain full and firm. Like all Maserati Ghiblis, the seating position is both low and comfortable, helped by an adjustable steering wheel, which makes for a comfortable fit for both those with long legs and the occasional basketball player. The dashboard features an expansive array of instruments and a wood trimmed steering wheel. The dashboard top surface is finished in a contrasting fabric material consistent with the original specifications. The centre console houses the original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.
Under the hood, the very nicely finished 4.7 liter quad-cam engine is nicely sorted and has been restored with the correct factory finishes, including proper hosing, wrinkle finish cam covers, proper air cleaner paint and correctly bundled hoses. The engine fires to life quickly, with an excellent raspy punch. Power in all gears is quite impressive, the 4.7 liter quad-cam delivers acres of torque at low RPMs and willingly uses all four Weber carbs to deliver a very strong top end. The suspension and brakes have been sorted out very nicely, so Maserati Ghibli s/n 115-652 is a pleasure to drive in city traffic or the highway.

In 2010 Maserati Ghibli s/n 115*1564 had two sets of major service work done by Europa Macchina, Lewisberry, PA. In February, 2010, major worked completed included a compression and leakdown test, check the fuel pumps, rebuild all four Weber 42 DCNF carbs, replace all water hoses, install a new battery box, plus the related parts, for a total invoice of $10,494.76. Further major work by Europa Macchina included flushing the fuel tanks, new fuel soft lines, touch up paint on the hood and nose, paint materials, a detail of the engine and engine compartment plus a new hood pad in April, 2010, for a total invoice of $12,576.25. In Feb., 2012, in preparation for showing at Amelia Island, five new Michelin 215/70VR15 XWX tires were ordered at a cost of $3,240.28. In March, 2012 service work in preparation work for showing at the Amelia Island Concours was completed by Europa Macchina. The work included a check and diagnose of any fuel, oil or water leaks, remove and repair door sill plates, paint all five wheels, refinish front and rear wheel wells, five new tire tubes, mount the new Michelin XWX tires and more for a total of $9,379.15. This stunning Maserati Ghibli 4.7 Coupe is finished in Blue Serra Metallic over Tan leather interior. Ghibli AM1151568 was special ordered on November 5th 1970 and left the Modena Italy factory in December 23, 1970. This Ghibli was special ordered in Blue Serra Metallic with an AM/FM radio, power steering/power brakes and stamped Borrani Dial wheels and stamped with engine number AM1151568 and body number 10376. The car was delivered new to its first owner in Southern CA and has been in Southern CA its entire life. This 2 owner car from new has covered only 64,300 miles from new and has just undergone a very extensive restoration. The car body was stripped down and repainted in its original Blue Serra Metallic. All of the chrome, rubber seals, gaskets, hoses, and belts are brand new. The engine and transmission were removed from the car for paint and rebuilt. The cooling, brakes, suspension and steering have all been sorted or renewed. All of the wiring in the car has been replaced or re-done. Brand new Michilen XWX’s and re-finished factory wheels. An exceptional car that is presented with a matching numbers engine, original tools, jack, spare, keys, books and Maserati Classiche documentation.

The new Ghibli had been special ordered in November of 1970 and was finished in the same exterior color as seen on the car today, the elegant Blue Sera color over a white leather interior.

According to the data sourced from Maserati Classiche, chassis no. 1570 was ordered in late October 1969 and completed assembly the following March. Finished in Blue Pervinca paint and trimmed with a white interior of Connolly leather, the Ghibli was distributed to the dealer Sport Auto in Rome, where it was purchased by Micca Ferrero.

Although little is currently known of the Maserati’s interim history, by 2014 the car was owned by Massimo and Gianluca Tiepolo, the proprietors of a sports car specialty garage in Italy called Stile Italiano di Sabbion, as clarified by an Auto Club d’Italia registration. The Ghibli was subsequently treated to a full restoration to the original colour configuration in the UK and still retains its original engine. Currently displaying 47,654 kilometres, this Ghibli SS would make a fabulous addition to any collection, ideal for enthusiasts of 1960s Italian grand tourers.
