Sold at the 1997 at the Christie's Geneva auction. The car was practically new, as it had less than 6000 km on it, and it still smelled like a new car! One owner at this time. It sold for 49 000 Swiss francs.

For sale 2012. The only Ghibli Spyder ( #AM115/S*1017* ) brought to France by the official French Maserati importer, Thépenier. A 4.7-litre European specification model from new, fitted with the desirable ZF five-speed manual gearbox, the car was delivered in March of that year finished in Celeste Chiaro (106 A 20) with black leather interior (PAC 1560), without a hardtop and was first owned and registered in August by Mr André Langlois.
Its second owner, Mr Michel Poncin, kept the Maserati from 1976 to 2012.
In 1979 the car underwent a complete mechanical refurbishment at Maserati Milano (Garage Basso). Showing 65,000 kilometres at that time, the odometer was zeroed and currently displays a total of 20,000, making the distance travelled from new circa 85,000 kilometres.
A measure of its enduring quality is the fact that the Maserati was invited to the prestigious Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ Concours d’Élegance at the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed where it was much admired. French registered, the car is offered with sundry invoices relating to the late-1970s restoration.

The car was manufactured in April 1969. It was originally white with blue leather but was repainted and reupholstered early in its life (Bob Jane didn't like the white colour) to light metallic blue with blue leather . See photo of white car with Italian number plates photographed in Bob Jane's race car workshop back in Melbourne. Bob said (via email in 2009) this photo was taken while the other cars were being prepared for the 1971 or 1972 Australian Touring Car Championship. This timing doesn't quite make sense to me as the car still has its Italian plates which is unlikely to be the case 2 or 3 years after he purchased the car.
The car was repainted in the 1980’s to navy blue before it underwent a full restoration in the late 1980’s when it was painted red with black leather interior.
The car is an original RHD and is one of 4 Ghiblis sold new into Australia and one of only some 37 RHD Ghiblis in total
According to Bob Jane (related to me in 2010), this is the 1969 Earl's Court Motor Show car. Bob was in England with his brother and visited the Earl's Court show. When they saw this car, Bob's brother said "Bob, you really should have one of those", upon which, Bob went up to the stand and purchased the car. Bob used the car to tour Europe before bringing it into Australia.. The original specification included 4.7 lire engine, 5 speed manual, air conditioning, stereo radio with electric antenna and power steering.
The car was delivered new to Bob Jane in 1969
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Jane). Although it was invoiced via Alec Mildren Motors, Bob collected the car in Europe. Bob Sold the car to Phillip Adams (advertising executive, film producer and journalist) in October 1974. I am unsure of ownership after Phillip Adams, but. it was owned by a Mr Raynor (in New South Wales I think) in the 1980’s who was responsible for the colour change to dark blue. The car was owned by George Pethard of Tamworth, NSW in the late 1980’s / early 1990’s and he was responsible for the restoration and colour change to red. It was purchased by Robert Marro from Lance Dixon Motors in the late 1990’s. I purchased the car from Robert in 2004. The original registration in Victoria was BJ 149 which was changed to LYY 310 on 4 October 1974 when the car was sold to Phillip Adams. It was registered as EE 2751 in Europe (Italy?)

Swedish title
Chassis Number: AM 115*1052
Engine Number: AM 115*1052
Chassis 1052 on offer was sold new in Italy 1969 and was exported to Sweden where it was registered on the 18th of April 1975. In 1994 the Chairman of the Swedish FIA, Gunnar Elmgren, bought the car to complement the Maserati 6CM he was racing at the time.
The owner after Gunnar Elmgren was Jan Mathiasson from Gothenburg who subsequently sent it to Swedish Maserati Specialists AMK in Saltsjöö-Boo in 2005 to have the body and engine restored. The interior was also re-trimmed at the same time. The car was sold to Stockholm collector Roddy Berntsson who sent it back to AMK, this time to have the brakes and suspension refurbished. The car was then Ferrari red but the current owner has had it repainted in Rosso Rubino, the colour it was painted originally. This is a splendid example, in nice condition, with superb mechanics and still retaining its original engine.
Estimation 250 000 - 290 000 €

Chassis ‘1053’ is one of those ten left-hand drive European cars to the ultimate specification and was supplied new to Dr Alfredo Belponer, president of the Scuderia Brescia Corse racing team which at the time was campaigning Ford GT40s and Ferrari 512Ss. Dr Belponer was no stranger to exotic roadgoing machinery, having commissioned a Maserati 5000GT and later purchasing the sole Lamborghini Miura Jota, although it was destroyed before delivery. For his new Ghibli SS Spyder he chose a handsome light metallic blue livery combined with black Connolly leather upholstery and matching hood, all of which are still the originals 44 years later. From Dr Belponer the Ghibli SS Spyder passed to an Italian client who spent time between his home country and the USA, and from him it was acquired by the Candini family of Maserati fame, who for years had looked after it for him. They cherished the car, enjoying and showing it regularly, before it was acquired by the present German owner.
