AM115.744 | 1969 | Ghibli manual |
USA | ||
This Maserati Ghibli 4.7 liter, 5 speed, Coupe carries matching number engine and chassis 115.744. It has been painstakingly restored and preserved with the same owner for the last 26 years. The car is finished in stunning midnight blue with a sand colored leather interior. A complete restoration was undertaken 1989-1990. Expense was not an issue. The car was sent to Bologna to be brought back to its glory by the well known Carrozzeria Autosport srl. Complete records are available on request. Some of you may remember seeing this car shown at Concorso in 1995 and it appeared in Viale Ciro Menotti club publication, issue #57. This stunning Ghibli Coupe has matching number engine and is still running strong with its original beautiful song. All of the mechanicals were completely gone through and restored at the same time as the body and paint work in 1989-90. Zero rust has been found since the restoration. Since restoration, the car has done 4901 miles and has been stored in an environmentally controlled garage and is now waiting for the next caretaker to enjoy. This car is definitely in the category of “excellent” condition. It could easily be in the category of “concours” condition with rectification of a few minor items.

This Ghibli 4.7 Coupe was built in May 1969 and was first delivered to the USA. After finding its way to Europe, this car was subject to an extensive restoration in Switzerland and is presented in stunning red with black interior trim. With just 51,000 kilometres on its odometer, the stunning Ghibli has travelled just 4,000 kilometres over the last 15 years. The consignor recently had the engine overhauled, and an RM Sotheby’s specialist who has driven this car confirms that it “drives well” and is a good touring car. This particular Ghibli (chassis number AM 115–778) is a left-hand drive European spec vehicle previously kept in Monaco, the UK, Austria and Germany. It was converted to a Spyder model by a renowned London coach builder in the late 1980s; service history suggests that the car was still registered in Monaco at the time. In 1995, the car was briefly UK registered (CYY 252G) before being exported to Austria where it was kept for the last 20 years. The vehicle has no export marker and thus remains UK registered. This vehicle is currently located in Berlin, Germany. Advertised here

Built in July 1969, this Ghibli was delivered new to Beverly Hills, California, and, according to the consignor, it was converted to a spider in prior ownership, likely during the 1980s. The Maserati was imported to Australia by the consignor in 2006, where a meticulous 10-year restoration was undertaken, and largely performed by the renowned Re-Creation Automotive Pty Ltd., near Melbourne. According to the consignor, this remarkable 6,600-hour endeavor cost nearly $615,000 AUD and is documented with over 250 pages of invoices. The finished product is sensational, and the Ghibli is now equipped with the more sporting five-speed ZF gearbox. At Motorclassica 2018 in Melbourne – one of the largest shows in the southern hemisphere – the Maserati won awards for both Best in Class and Restoration of the Year. A testament to Re-Creation Automotive’s craftsmanship, this was its third Restoration of the Year award in a row. For enthusiasts seeking an exciting open-motoring experience, this impressive Ghibli represents incredible value, and its fantastic colors and presentation are sure to draw a crowd wherever it is shown. Originally black with white interior and was delivered back to Italy to convert to “Euro” spec.
