This outstanding Maserati Ghibli 4.7 Coupe stands out as a beautifully restored example. Completed at Maserati's Modena workshops in July of 1967, this early-production Ghibli, chassis no. AM115.074, was built as a left-hand drive Coupe. It is finished as it appears today in elegant Blue Sera over Senape leather interior, and according to the Maserati Factory records, the car was delivered new to Firenze, Italy with an Automatic Borg Warner gearbox. This information could be an error however, because when the car went through its recent thorough restoration, no signs of an earlier automatic transmission was found, and the Ghibli is known to have been a 5-speed manual car for decades. This desirable early production Ghibli presents today with all the attractive factory features that came on the early Ghiblis, including the smooth non vented hood, delicate chrome bumpers, Campagnolo alloy knock off wheels, a lower rear hatch design, wooden steering wheel and shift knob, and toggle switches.

Although the Maserati's early history post its home-market delivery remains unknown, this Ghibli has recently come out of a nearly 30-year Wisconsin-based custodianship. Finished in its original color of Blue Sera over Senape leather interior, this stunning Ghibli underwent a 26-month rotisserie restoration completed in December of 2020 by Milestone Motorcars in Delray Beach, FL. During the restoration, the body was taken down to bare metal and the factory undercoating was removed. Most Ghiblis of this era are now heavily undercoated, but this example has no undercoating leaving the floors finished in the lovely blue color matching the body. Other components tended to during the restoration included the suspension and brakes, while the matching numbers 4.7-Liter DOHC V8 engine underwent a full refurbishment. The sporty Campagnolo alloy wheels were refurbished as well and shod on a fresh set of Pirelli tires. A comprehensive binder documenting the work carried out with photos and details of the restoration is included with the sale, along with a tool kit and wheel wrench.

The current vendor purchased the Ghibli in 1992 from restorer, Mr. David George, and it is believed to be four owners from new. The owner reports the Ghibli to be in excellent condition. Most recently the car was completely overhauled by Kiwi Engineering of Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Sold New York 1999 Christies.
As a very early example, the Ghibli features Smiths gauges, a drop-down lipped trunk lid that extends through the license plate area, Campagnolo alloy wheels, a Hellebore wood-rimmed steering wheel, and the unusual early engine that was built with dual spark-plug holes and 40 mm Weber carburetors. In 1992, the car was acquired by an East Coast owner who invested in some mechanical work. Purchased in April 1999 by a midwestern collector, the car was stored for more than a decade before the consignor acquired it. In 2015, it was treated to a full bout of freshening by RMB Garage of Stockton, California, resulting in a well-presented example that exudes authenticity

This early-production example of Maserati's classic Ghibli Coupe was completed at Maserati's workshops in 1967. It is equipped with the desirable 5-speed manual transmission, and is believed to have been delivered new with that specification. The Maserati sat in a barn near Gaston, Oregon for decades, but was recently treated to a cosmetic clean-up.
Finished in a period-correct Graphite Grey Metallic exterior color, the body and bright work presents in fair condition, and would be ideal for driving. Mechanically, the Ghibli should be treated to a check-up before being put on the road again. The seats have been replaced with cloth covers, which are now torn, and would benefit from proper Connolly leather hides installed again. The balance of the interior appears to be in largely original condition, with a lovely period radio installed in the dash.
Fitted with the correct era-evoking alloy wheels, 5-speed manual transmission and its matching numbers engine, this 4.7-liter Ghibli Coupe offers much potential for its next owner. One could get away with minor cosmetic refurbishments and a good mechanical go-through, or decide to treat this highly desirable Italian thoroughbred to a full nut and bolt restoration. These sharp-looking Giorgetto Giugiaro designed and Ghia built GT's are among the most desirable cars ever produced by the legendary Modena-based company, and remain highly collectible today now that Maserati has brought back the Ghibli namesake to their model range.

This highly attractive 1967 Maserati Ghibli 4.7 Coupe is an extremely desirable 5-Speed example wearing classic red over black colours. Completed at Maserati's Modena workshops in late fall of 1967, this early-production Ghibli, chassis no. AM115.102, was built as a left-hand drive Coupe, fitted with the desirable ZF 5-speed manual gearbox, and destined for the North American market. Little of the early history of this Maserati is known, but at some point, it returned back to Europe. Finding its way to Belgium, it was acquired by the previous owner in July of 2008. It appears to have been repainted, but the interior looks to be largely original. The Maserati has been undriven and stored, as such it is recommended that mechanical recommissioning is undertaken. These powerful and sharp-looking Giorgetto Giugiaro designed GT's are among the most desirable cars ever produced by the legendary Modena-based Maserati company and remain highly collectible today. The Maserati Ghibli will continue to inspire future collectors as one of the most important sports cars of the Golden Era of Italian design. The exciting opportunity to own such a car is not to be missed.

Recently arrived from France, this left-hand drive, 4.7-litre example has benefited from a recent inspection and service at Cecil Cars, who are a reputed restorer near Paris. The odometer indicates 75,264km (which is believed to be original) and has been enthusiast owned for the last 10 years; our vendor reports that it is in near perfect mechanical order. It's described as a delightful older restored car with, we believe, its original leather interior. Finished in classic Maserati Red, we understand that it was repainted in the early 1990s.
